Poem - Life - Maryam Salman

*Life*
All the hustles and struggles
Man's journey is not complete without bustles
Suffering in the harsh weather
Come rain; come sunshine
Just to make ends meet.

As I looked around
I could see weary shoulders and wrinkled faces
Toiling day in; day out.
Well built bodies wearing away
Like the rags of the old village woman.

Life is like a hollow valley
Full of gold and diamonds at the bottom
Like the proverbial Valley in the Adventures of Sinbad.
Yet you must trod on needles and nails
To be able to reach the bottom
There you will find your treasures.

Oh you the hardworking one
Know that you shall reap what you sow
And enjoy the fruit of your labour
For surely one day your star shall shine.
That day wealth shall be at your reach.
