Gwani Sadiq was from Gusau, Zamfara State, Nigeria. Born at Tafki Tara, Kebbi State. He memorized the Glorious Qur'an in the hand of his father. He later travelled to Gusau, Sheikh Sunusi Balarabe Zawiyya, to pursue Qur'anic knowledge.

He was among the top Nigerian Qur'anic reciters.
In 1994, Gwani Sadiq represented Sokoto State in the National Quranic Recitation Competition and won 11th position in the memorization of 60 Hizb (second category without Tafsir). He contested with Riwayati Warsh.
In 1995, he bagged 3rd position and won 1st in 1996 (in the same category, i.e 60 Hizb ) where he contested with Riwayati Hafs.
He represented Nigeria at King Fahad International Qur'anic Competition, Makkah, where he got 1st position in the 2nd category(60 Hizb),making him the third amongst the 5 Nigerians that attained this rank( others being Gwani Umar Al-Bashir, Gwani Tahir Idris, Gwani Abdurrahman Durma, and recently, Idris Abubakar,all from Borno State, Nigeria). This was in the year 1996/1997. الله اكبر Other Nigerian participants during the same year are Sheikh Abubakar Rabah Kebbi (Tafsir), Gwani Fadlu Kura Kano(40 Hizb), Dr Mansur Yelwa Bauchi(20 Hizb) and Isma'il Salis Katsina (10 Hizb).
He was a judge( for correction) in Nigerian National Qur'anic Recitation Competition from 2001 to 2013, and reappointed from 2018 to date.
He memorized Shatibiyya, Al-Durrah and on-going Taiyibah An-Nashr (2013 interview at Wisal Hausa Tv)
In 2011, he was chosen to be among the panel of Judges at King Fahd International Holy Quran Competition, Makkah and assigned to correct (and later to read the questions as well) the contestants.
Yana da yawan murmushi da faran-faran da jama'a ' he smiles alot'.
He had Jumu'at Masjid and delivered annual Ramadan Tafsir there.
He teaches many Fikh, Lugga and Qira'at at his school in Gusau.
Goni (in ji mutanen Borno) wrote a book on Tajweed and recorded complete Quran in Hafs, Warsh, Qalun and Khalaf.
Very soon, in sha Allah, the recorded version of 10 various Qira'at (20 Riwayat) will be launched by God's grace.
