POEM - A MYSTERIOUS BEING - FATIMA MUHAMMAD SANI

A MYSTERIOUS BEING

Today's a special day
A special  poem to thee is all that I can pay
Thank you a million times,I say
Thee always reflecting like a light ray
With poetry,I became gay

Helped me expand my imaginations
Growing it wilder beyond notions
All happened as a coincidence
Shocked with all that occurred
But fain with what happened

A mysterious being,I discovered
Who helped me recover
A story I uncover
Moved me from where I was hovered

Helped me build a new mindset
With happiness packed in sets
All things been reset
A new beginning was set

If THANK YOU is a flower and can be gathered,
I would've gotten a garden for you, which is well watered
Because thee helped my pain to be shattered
A special poem for thee
Because thee always want special things

Poem - The Devil in Our Midst - Ameer Jibril Salihu

*The Devil in Our Midst*

The devil is not the being that has pointy horns
And a pointy tail
He does not wear a black billowing cape
And a mischievous smile

Rather,
The devil is the one who cuts people open for the fun of it
He is the one who couriers his conscience to the seventh gate of hell

The devil is the one who loves to see blood
Wash away a town
He is the one who decimates communities as a hobby
He is the one who sits in his luxury chair
And sends drones to desolate towns
Because he has a PhD in cruelty

The devil is the one who crafts orphans and widows
In a bid to satisfy his thirst

The devil is the one who riddles children with bullets
And only feels emptiness
He is the one who shatters children to smithereens
And distributes the parts to places unknown

Let us join hands and pray
Whether you worship the sun
Or the moon or the stars
Whether you have one God or many god's

Let the Jews,
The Christians,
The Muslims,
The Buddhists,
The Hindus,
The Zoroastrians,
Join hands and condemn this evil
Ravaging our fragile world

For the devil is not the one with a pointy horn
And a pointy tail
He does not wear a black billowing cape
He is a man, like everyone.

POEM - I'M A HOPER - FATIMA MUHAMMAD SANI

I'M A HOPER

I'm stronger than I look
Use the dictionary to mock
I'll swirl them with a fork
With each breath,I'll work

A girl,I am
Small biceps in my arm
But with a strength that is warm
A heart larger than a farm
Which veils a lot
Lifts uncountable heavy loads
Invisible like dots

With hope,I became a hoper
Imaginations make me a dreamer
Dyspnea makes me a fighter
My goals make me an achiever
Pain makes me stronger

With emotions am caged
Feeling high like a wedge
Nearly crossing the hedge
But I'm the strongest,I realized

I won't let it get me down
I believe am the strongest in town
Who wears pain, hope and love as a gown
Covered the face with mask like a clown
And strength as a crown

I'll strive further
Because am the hope of my mother
Giving up, and being hopeless,I'll murder
I'll strike like a thunder
Till I cross the indestructible border

POEM - HOPELESS LOVER - FATIMA MUHAMMAD SANI

HOPELESS LOVER

He loved her,he said
With full hope,she laid
For love,she was a maid
Happiness,she was paid

 He was different,she thought
To express the love,she fought
Fought all who insulted him
Love story like a film
Love held everything firm

All she had was sacrificed
In the name of love, she announced
She was a faithful lover
Always the first mover
Destroyed all that tried to cross the border

The feelings were ignored
A whole being was lowered
The heart was murdered
Into pieces it was shattered
The soul was watered
With hateful blood,it was covered

Experienced a new pain
Feelings became plain
Dysfunctional was her brain
Hatred was all that rained

Love made her psychotic
All she does becomes dramatic
Hell opened it's doors
Crying is all she does

Poem - Mother's day! ZAINAB M MUSA

The praise of a mother
I pick up my pen today,
To praise she who spends her day,
To put a smile on a face,
It is really a grace,

To have her as a shade,
That never allows you to fade.
She's as cool as a gentle breeze,
Which does not make you to freeze.

She wakes up early,
A routine daily.
She teaches you to be holy,
And not to be a bully.

She is a hero,
Who makes you believe you can't score a zero,
She is a source of encouragement,
That makes you to never relent.

She is a guide,
To a brighter future ride.
She's dedicated like an entourage,
I salute your courage.

Poem - A tolerated killer - Nasruddeen

A tolerated killer

Imagine the feeling of incision without anesthesia,
Exactly that, stroked my cardia.
When I palpated a living death child.
From where he came? I had no idea.
But resembled IDP orphans of Somalia.

Had worn-out muscles as a used gauze.
With frozen arteries and veins
All blocked by rigid and sticky erythrocyte
Shaped like crescent moons.
Pale skin, swollen hands and feet plus pneumonia.
Severe symptoms of sickle cell anemia.

Oh! Not a Somali, realized I
But a son of self-serving lovebird
That denied their incompatibility
Even though their genotypes are incompatible.
And chose to geneticized miseries
To their yet born babies.

I held his arm, my eyes widened as owl's
Then I fell into chasm of thoughts
Does love worth all sacrifices?
Even the health and joy of our offsprings?
Isn't it easy to eradicate sickle cell disease?
Or is our gruesome acts let it living?
Aren't we serving its cycle?
Why don't we starve it now?

POEM - SICKLE CELL DISEASE- MARYAM SALMAN

It's more than just a case of mutated haemoglobin
It's more than a cell been sickle shaped
It's eternal hardship full of pain.
Know your genotype today; Help stop the Menace.
